Bentley's consideration about Convertible Continental Supersports
The Continental Supersports starts at $273,295, but performance wise there is no bargaining. But on the other hand, it is 243 pounds lighter than the Continental GT speed; its 6.0-liter V-12 power plant is rated at 621 horsepower and can rocket the hulking coupe to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds - a tenth quicker than the Corvete ZRI which achieves the same feat. Its top speed is equal to supercar, which has a speed of 204 mph.
Reducing the weight of the car does not sound like a recipe to success. But Bentley says the GTC's speed is already stiff and it has been compared with potent V-12, so he suggested, the idea of weight-loss regimen of the coupe might work out.
The Supersports reduces the weight by fitting carbon ceramic brakes and lighter wheels in addition to lighter interior materials - these are the things that are easily done in a convertible.
The decision to include the Supersports Convertible to the already existing large Bentley Continental lineup could also be firmly established, but the only thing to consider is about the environment, despite its monstrous power output. Supersports are the fastest Bentley ever and it is also the first to run on both ethanol and gasoline.
