Hi-tech AV systems make the trip
Volvo, for example, is targeting its newly launched XC60 at those who demand design, brand integrity and hi-tech content in their lifestyle product.

Audio-wise, the LE model of the XC60 lets the driver and passengers enjoy a worldclass audio system that features 12 Dynaudio loudspeakers and an amplifier with Dolby Pro Logic II Surround delivering 130 watts x 5.
Sound can be optimised to suit three situations - the driver's seat, front seat and rear seat - and controlled from the steering wheel, centre console or rear-seat audio console.
The audio system can play MP3 and WMAformat CDs, which means that the CD changer can store a few hundred tracks.
"Beneath the front central armrest is an auxiliary input for connecting the owner's equipment such as a portable MP3 player. A USB port is also available to make it possible to plug in an iPod, MP3 player or USB," says Volvo Car Asia-Pacific's regional network and product manager Akhtar Sulaiman.
But everybody don't have to listen to the same music. In the rear-seat audio console, there are two sockets for personal headphones, so passengers can adjust the volume and choose between musical sources and playlists.
